Why are we named Atlas & Bone?

The story of Atlas the Titan in Greek mythology has captivated people’s imaginations for centuries, so much so that the ancient Romans had decided to name the 7th vertebrae in our spine - aligned to our shoulders, where Atlas has been depicted to be carrying the world - the Atlas Bone. 

Fast forward to the Renaissance Age, the great scientists and philosophers of that time then decided to move the Atlas bone from the 7th vertebrae to the 1st, which is right below the base of the skull and is critical in holding and supporting our heads. 

The reason? To symbolise that the true burden a man carries is no longer a physical load to be placed on his shoulders, but rather it was the weight of his mind as it held the power to make or break, to create or to destroy, to hold you back or to enable you to thrive in this game that we call life. 

We could not think of a better name for a clothing brand that signifies the acceptance, embrace and taking back of power over one of men's biggest insecurities - and with that the Atlas & Bone Clothing Brand was born!
